The Struan Inn

An update from the Proprietors

Further to the First Minister’s announcement that Scotland will be moving ‘beyond Level 0’ on the 9th August and removing remaining social distancing restrictions, we would like to provide the following update:

Due to the lack of international tourism and the fact that we have already missed five months of the usual tourist season with less than two months left to go, we have decided that the Struan Inn will remain closed for the remainder of 2021. Staffing up now is sadly not viable for us at this late stage.

For the 2022 season, part of the Inn i.e. some bedrooms combined with a selection of public areas and a kitchen, will be combined to form self-catering accommodation on a weekly let basis. We feel that with the pandemic still ongoing and the restricted size/layout of our premises, that people will still be conscious of being in close proximity to others outwith their family or group. The uncertainty around international travel, and of course whether people will be keen venture abroad on the same scale as pre-pandemic, also remains.

This plan gives us some breathing space to continue trading and still provide high quality holiday accommodation, while at the same time looking ahead to the future.

The Struan Inn is situated 12 miles north of Pitlochry, five miles north of Blair Atholl on the edge of the Cairngorms National Park. Ideally located to explore the Northern Highlands, the Struan Inn is an ideal place for family or group holiday. Just two minutes from the A9, the main route connecting the central region of Scotland to the north, this stone-built property is full of character and a delightful place to stay.

On the doorstep you will find a host of interesting places to visit, including Blair Castle, home of the Atholl Highlanders, the only private army in Europe, the quaint market town of Aberfeldy, the historic village of Dunkeld to name but a few. For the adventure-lovers, why not try your hand at white-water rafting or canyoning, perhaps treat yourself to a Highland Wildlife Safari, or climb Schiehallion, otherwise known as 'The Fairy Hill of the Caledonians'. For those who enjoy a slower pace, there is some superb fishing available in the area and a wide selection of golf courses. For those looking to enjoy some country pursuits, the Struan Inn is surrounded by sporting estates offering a wide range of activities, including stag and hind stalking, grouse and pheasant shooting. In addition, shopping enthusiasts will not be disappointed. Just a mile away you will discover The House of Bruar, one of the most prestigious shopping experiences in Scotland.

Please check back to find out more about our self-catering accommodation which will be available for 2022.

PLEASE NOTE THAT THE STRUAN INN IS NOT IN ANY WAY CONNECTED WITH THE ADJACENT CALVINE HOLIDAY PARK.
